Passover

We have been learning about the Jewish celebration of Passover.

We acted out the story of the 10 plagues which explains why Passover is called Passover.

Can you tell which part of the story is being acted out here?

We then enjoyed part of a Passover meal, explaining what each food meant.

Can you describe what the different parts of the meal mean?

Multifaceted learning: History and Art

This afternoon we worked on some artwork that depicted St Paul's cathedral during the blitz. We created it using different shades and tones of oranges and reds and silhouettes of buildings, including St Paul's cathedral. Have a look back later to see how the pictures progress as they are still a work in progress!
We also used drama to explore some History. We considered evacuees and what it would have been like for the hundreds of children leaving their parents for the seaside and countryside towns.

Have a look at the picture below to see what our afternon looked like.

Forces in action!

Today we were investigating how different surfaces can affect the distance rolled by a toy car. We had to make our experiment a fair test by keeping certain factors the same, such as how steep the slope was and the car we were using.

We made predictions and then tested them.

We thought of different reasons why the car travelled more slowly on some surfaces.  We concluded that the more friction there is, the slower the car travels.

Maths Investigations

This morning we have been solving some really tricky maths puzzles. We were learning how to record our work in an organised way, as well as practising using adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
